Mrs. Guadalupe T. Esparza, 90, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend entered into the glory of her eternal life on Friday, April 13, 2018, at her residence in Leander, Texas surrounded by her loving family.

Lupita, as she was affectionately known to all, was born and raised in Port Isabel, Texas. Her family moved to Brownsville, when Lupita was about 12 or 13 years old. She then attended school in Brownsville, and graduated from Brownsville High School. Upon graduation she attended Texas Women's University where she received her Bachelors in Education. Years later, Lupita obtained her Masters in Early Childhood Education from the University of Texas Pan American.

Lupita was an educator and administrator for 50+ years and during the course of those years she touched the lives of thousands; students, parents, and co-workers. In her spare time, Lupita enjoyed baking and spending time with her family. Lupita was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed not only by her family and friends but by all those fortunate to have known her.

Lupita was preceded in death by her, husband Luis R. Esparza; her parents, Guadalupe and John P. Tamayo; a sister, Marie T. Gallo and 2 brothers, Police Lt. Pat Tamayo and Juan Tamayo.

Left behind to eternally treasure their memories of Lupita are her children: William “Bill” (Patty) Esparza, Annie Beaver, John Louis (Daphne) Esparza, and Guadalupe “Lulu” (Carlos) Garcia. Lupita will also be missed by her 7 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren; a sister, Hortencia “Tencha” (Joe+) Medrano; and a brother, Jose Angel “Joe” (Lupana+) Tamayo; a sister-in-law, Elida Tamayo along with numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.

Visitation will be held on Monday, April 16, 2018, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in the East Chapel at Darling-Mouser Funeral Home with a rosary service scheduled for 7:00 p.m. Monday evening. The Funeral Mass is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at St. Luke’s Catholic Church, 2800 Rockwell Dr., Brownsville. Committal services will follow at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.
